A survey of chief executives has found that many are planning to reduce expenditure on training.

One of the biggest challenges facing employers during the long run of economic prosperity interrupted by the global financial crisis was the skills shortage. One of the biggest contributors to that shortage was the short-term thinking of companies which during previous downturns and throughout much of the 1990's drastically reduced their investment in training and development.
